Like many schools around the country, mine provided a virtual winter program last year during our remote learning period. However, this time was different. I had to provide a virtual performance for the parents while featuring students who would be learning in-person. The answer I found was to use a chroma key!

Last year, I experimented with using the green screen effect by making movement practice videos in my lessons. The response was positive! The virtual students loved seeing me dance along with them, especially since it was always synced in time with the video. This year, I expanded that concept so that my students could try it themselves. After talking with my administrators, we found that using cloth in my classroom was the easiest method. I placed the covers and sheets over the side of the wall of my entranceway so that my students would already be in place when they walked in! Stay tuned for more updates on our recording progress.
